Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.    I Thessalonians 5:11

The Power of a Single Word: Come Vol 1 No 12

Dear Friend,

When someone says, “come” to you, you realize that you are welcome and wanted. It feels good!

To come is to draw near, to approach, to come closer, to enter in.

Come is the word that asks you to join in – to be a part – and it is the word you may use to invite others in.

Come, let’s go for a walk, grab a cup of coffee, catch a movie.

Come with us to the farmer’s market, for supper, to an event at church.

When is the last time you offered someone the personal invitation to come? In our day of shrinking friendship circles, your courage in saying “come” to someone opens the door to a new level of friendship for you both!

Come is also a word that captures the warm hospitable heart of God." Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

So, this day, hear the warm invitation of Jesus to you:

Come to Me.

Trust in Me.

Be refreshed by Me.

Be loved by Me.

Love Me.

Why are people less invitational in these days? What hold you back from saying, "come" to someone?

What is something you could invite someone to and will you do it and actually say, "come?"
