Positioning - when God positions us with people!

Dear Friend,

Think of the times you have found yourself with someone who went on to have a great impact on your life or you a great impact on his or her life.

That’s “positioning!” Positioning happens when God puts you with people through no choice of your own for reasons of God’s own.

The jailor in Philippi was just doing his job never imagining that when Paul and Silas were thrown into his jail, they would lead him to faith in Jesus (Acts 16). God positioned Paul and Silas with the jailor!

I was attending an out-of-town wedding rehearsal when a person I’d just met the previous month 2000 miles away walked up to our great surprise. We became dear friends. That’s positioning!

The woman in the town of Sychar walked out to the well for water with no thought whatsoever that she would meet the Messiah who changed her life (John 4). Positioning!

Positioning is the process by which God puts people into your life through no decision, forethought, choice or plan of your own for reasons of God’s own, to encourage you or them.

As you find yourself people positioned with people in a store or a doctor’s office or at a social or in your neighborhood, be alert to the ministry moment, how God may encourage you or the others who are there.

Think of people or moments in your life in which through no choice of your own, you met someone and that someone encouraged you or you encouraged that person in a significant way. Those moments are illustrations of God positioning people in your life.

Trusting that God does position you with people through no choice of your own for reason's of God's own, what does that suggest to how you think about meeting people - in any context - at a store, in the neighborhood, at your work and so on?
