A Podcast About Encouragement
Building One Another
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11
My Answer is Yes!
Dear Friend,
The wonderful Hebrew word hineni means, “Here I am.” It's more than simply "being here," it's being fully present to you. When God called Samuel, Jacob, Moses, Isaiah, all of them replied, hineni, here I am! Hineni is, "I am here with you at the deepest level, yours, ready to run with you."
I’ve always loved hineni as a simple way to let our loving Lord know that we belong to him and are available to serve.
"Here I am" offers the sense of available, willing to serve, “What may I do for you?”
In an interview on Youtube, musicians Brian and Jenn Johnson talk about matters concerning the adoption of a child. Jenn comments that Darlene Zschech, another wonderful musician had been with them.
Darlene began talking to them about hineni as meaning, “My answer is yes before you even ask!” What a wonderful way to understand hineni!
If your heart is soft, open fully to the indwelling Lord Jesus who loves and leads you, then when you sense our Lord asking something of you, you will respond, “Here I am – my answer is yes before you even ask!”
Joy to you - Stan
