Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11

Make a Prayer Covenant!

Dear Friend,                          

A 30-day prayer covenant is a wonderful way in which you and another person may pray an agreed upon prayer for one another for a month. It is a great way to encourage one another in the faith.

I learned my favorite prayer covenant prayer from Jerry Kirk years ago:

Lord, grant _________ and me the grace today to commit our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ without reservation, and grant _________ and me further the grace to know your strength and your guidance this day.  Amen.

There have been many times in my life in which praying for the grace to commit my life to Jesus and for his strength and guidance was all I knew to pray or even was able to pray – and our Lord has always graciously answered.  It is a wonderful prayer to use with a prayer covenant partner.

Another wonderful prayer for a prayer covenant is Ephesians 3:16-19

I pray, “that according to the riches of God’s glory he may grant [______ and me] to be strengthened with power through God’s Spirit in your [our] inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your [our] hearts through faith—that you [we], being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you [we] may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Make a prayer covenant with someone. Lead the people in your small group, ministry team, or committee to pair up with prayer covenants! You all will be encouraged.
