Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11

Dear Friend,

The One-One-One Prayer is a wonderful way to pray more deeply for a person.

Using the One-One-One Prayer, we pray for one person a day for one minute for one month. Of course we may pray for many others but this prayer focuses on a person for a longer period of time.

Think of a person you know seems outside of the life of faith or a person who is carrying a heavy burden.  Perhaps it’s a family member or a neighbor, a fellow employee or someone you know in your community.

Praying for a minute doesn’t sound very long until you try it! It give you the time to pray for the person’s well-being, health, family and relationships, work, neighbors, openness to the person of Jesus and that he or she would know hope in trusting our loving Lord.

When you pray for one person for a minute a day for a month, several things happen.

           Our Lord who hears you will answer your prayers.

                       You will begin to see this person through the eyes of Jesus.

                                   You become one step in this person’s journey of faith.

A wonderful way to help people in your church or fellowship group grow a missional heart for the people in their lives is to invite them to join praying the One-One-One Prayer for someone in their life who is not a part of the life of the church or for someone who is suffering. The Lord who loves them will love them through your prayers!

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2

To Pray the One-One-One Prayer:

1. Think of a person in your world who is outside of faith and the church and or who is facing a difficult life challenge.
2. Commit to pray for this one person once a day for one month
3. Remind yourself with a note or post-it put where you will see it ever day
4. Invite people in your group or church to join you by praying the One-One-One Prayer for someone in their world for a month.
