A Podcast About Encouragement
Building One Another
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11
Become Aware of the Wow!
Awe is an awesome word! It marvelously combines amazement and wonder with a sense of overwhelming respect. When you feel awe you are aware of the wow!
“And all who heard it (about the angels appearing to the Shepherds) were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.” Luke 2:18* They were aware of the wow! Perhaps “awe” understates their experience! After they saw the baby and spread the word, “all were amazed!” Awe! Wow!
“How awesome is the LORD Most High… great King over all the earth.” Psalm 47:2
To be with Jesus is to experience awe:
“The neighbors were all filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things.” Luke 1:65
“Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, 'We have seen remarkable things today.'” Luke 5:26
“They were all filled with awe and praised God. 'A great prophet has appeared among us,' they said. 'God has come to help his people.'” Luke 7:16
Busy lives, daily pressures and personal anxieties can easily diminish our sense of awe! Jesus Christ is literally “awesome” and worthy of our awe.
Make a mental adjustment, be aware of the wow, of the awesome presence of our Lord and his love for you.
Rejoice in the majesty and miracle of Jesus Christ and be aware of the wow!
