Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11

Be a People Eyes Player!

Dear Friend -

Encouraging others often involves just two steps we take in the moment. See a person to encourage through people eyes – the eyes of Jesus – and do it!

To have people eyes is to be a player. To “see” a person you may encourage and remain a bystander means you are people blind and didn’t really see!

Can you imagine Jesus seeing the woman at the well and ignoring her? Zacchaues up in the tree and Jesus just walking past him? The leper begging help and Jesus ignoring him?

     Jesus is a player. He see a person and he acts!

Ask him to give you his eyes to really “see” people. You are sitting in a doctor’s waiting room with others around you. You are standing in line at the grocery or talking a walk in the park or standing on an elevator.

Are you paying attention to a what or a whom?

     A "what" means are you are attending the face of you cell phone, a television, something playing on your earbuds.

     A "whom" means attending to the people right in front of you!

Be a player with Jesus, “the” player, and give yourself to the ones God gives you!

1. When you are among people such as in the grocery, an elevator, a waiting room - do you focus on a "what" - a cell phone, a book, and so on, or a "worm," the people around you.
2. How may you make the shift from focusing on what to whom?
3. Are you willing to enter their "space" - to make a light, warm remark or offer other words to connect and to lift the heart of the other?
4. Remember David's word to his son Solomon, "Be strong, be of good courage and DO IT!" I Chronicles 28:20
